A formulated Heat Exchanger Fouling inhibitor, commonly referred to as an antifoulant, for crude oils in production, going on the market or upstream processing units and crude oil feed via heat exchangers and bottom product streams in the refineries. In addition it contains an ionic suppressor, which controls the ionization of the Naphthenic acids and reaction of metals with the organic acids, blocking the mechanisms to soaps and polymers.

The major thrust is the inhibition of flocculation of the asphaltenes and inherent dirt / metal oxides-sulphides via a neat surfactant-dispersant effect. It will inhibit some of the reactions leading to the acidity of Naphthenic acids then to the gum forming Naphthenates from Naphthenic acids in crude oil production and minimize soaps of alkali and alkaline earth metals, organic scales in refinery heat exchangers.

This is one of the major issues in the oil industry and Alpha Omega Chemicals has researched and formulated this product and resolved the issue. PC AF 202 by injection upstream can enhance desalting with the help of normal desalting chemicals, by controlling naphthenate emulsified soaps and naphthenic acids.
